Overview
Cambio is a currency converter built by Telescope Ltd. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app — on your iPhone or iPad, and through its home screen widget.
The short version: Cambio doesn't ask who you are, doesn't build a profile of you, and doesn't operate a server of its own to keep one on. Everything below explains why, and exactly what happens instead. This policy applies to Cambio and its widget, wherever you downloaded them.
Information We Don't Collect
Cambio has no sign-in, no account, and no user profile. Using the app has never required a name, an email address, a phone number, or a payment method.
The app also doesn't request access to your location, camera, photo library, contacts, microphone, or health data — none of its code asks iOS for permission to any of these, because none of it is used for anything.
There's no analytics library, crash reporter, or advertising kit built into Cambio, either. That's not a policy we're promising to keep — it's simply absent from what ships inside the app. Apple requires every app to publish a privacy manifest disclosing any "required reason" API it uses; Cambio's states plainly that it does not track you and collects no data types, because it doesn't.
What's Stored On Your Device
Cambio does store a small amount of information — entirely on your device, using iOS's standard local storage, shared between the app and its widget through an App Group so both can show the same numbers. This is:
- The base currency you've chosen to convert from
- The list and order of currencies you've marked as favorites
- The most recent exchange rates the app fetched, cached so amounts still display while you're offline
None of this is transmitted to us, backed up to any account of ours, or visible to anyone but you. It stays on your device until you delete the app, at which point it's removed along with it.
Exchange Rate Requests
To show current and historical exchange rates, Cambio makes requests to Frankfurter, a free, open-source exchange rate service built on European Central Bank data. This is the only network traffic the app generates.
Each request sends only a currency code — for example, asking for rates based on "USD" — never a device identifier, advertising identifier, or anything that identifies you personally. Cambio doesn't sit its own server in between; your device talks to Frankfurter directly.
Because this request goes to a service we don't operate, it's worth reading Frankfurter's own documentation if you'd like the full picture of how it handles requests on its end.
The Home Screen Widget
If you add the Cambio widget to your home screen, it reads the same locally stored favorites and cached rates as the app, and refreshes them periodically in the background using the same request described in Section 04. The widget doesn't collect anything the app doesn't, and nothing it does is visible outside your device.
Sharing & Sale of Data
There's nothing to sell, and nobody to share it with. Cambio has no advertising partners, data brokers, or analytics vendors, so no data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or any other purpose — because none is collected beyond the on-device settings described in Section 03.
Security & Retention
The exchange rates, favorites, and settings Cambio stores live in Apple's standard app storage on your device, protected by your device's own security — passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. We don't keep a copy anywhere else, so there's no separate server-side record to secure, breach, or lose.
Uninstalling the app removes this data along with it. There's no account to close and no request to send us — deleting the app is the whole process.
Children's Privacy
Cambio doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it doesn't collect personal information from anyone. The app is suitable for a general audience and complies with children's privacy laws, such as COPPA, by design rather than by exception.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes — for instance, if a future version of Cambio adds a feature that changes what's described here — we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
